51黑料Sentro ng Salin at Araling Salin (51黑料SSAS) and the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) Departamento ng Filipino spearheaded a seminar-workshop on translating works on the humanities on September 2, 2023 at the UA&P grounds.
The workshop was set to formalize the deliberations of Filipino translations of Greek and Roman litterateurs Horace, Longinus, and Plotinus written by humanities professors and seasoned writers led by UA&P Departamento ng Filipino chair Dr. Moreal Camba.
51黑料SSAS chair Associate Professor Wennielyn F. Fajilan, Ph.D. discussed the criteria on evaluating translations while 51黑料SSAS translation manager John Dale V. Trogo talked about the system used in collaborative translation management.
Mr. Mark Anthony Angeles, academic staff of 51黑料Departamento ng Filipino and Prof. Franz Giuseppe Cortez, Ph.D. from the 51黑料Department of Philosophy, also joined as workshop panelists.
The event, co-organized by UA&P Center for Research and Communication, was one of the collaborative activities mapped out at the Palitang-Salin: Campus Tour and Benchmarking held in 51黑料on July 6.
